At Golisano Institute, our mission is centered on fostering entrepreneurial and economic growth. To preserve a respectful, inclusive, and mission-aligned environment within our Campus Center, we ask all event hosts, attendees, guests, and speakers to adhere to the following expectations regarding political rhetoric and professional conduct:
- Political Neutrality: Hosts, attendees, and guests are asked not to exhibit, promote, or display visual materials endorsing political parties, candidates, or partisan affiliations within the Campus Center.
- Professional Conduct: Discussions involving political parties, candidates, or elected officials should remain professional, respectful, and constructive. Open political debates are discouraged in public or shared spaces to avoid creating divisive or disruptive environments.
- Respectful Communication: When speaking about political topics, individuals should remain mindful that comments may be misinterpreted, provoke unintended reactions, or escalate tensions. We expect all discourse to be conducted with a tone of maturity, professionalism, and respect that reflects the values of our institution. Thoughtful communication helps preserve a welcoming environment for all members of our community, regardless of differing viewpoints.
- Conflict Mitigation: We encourage a culture of civility and proactive resolution when differing viewpoints arise. Any behavior that could incite confrontation or create a hostile environment due to political differences is inconsistent with our values and mission.
Policy Enforcement
Failure to comply with this policy may result in the Institute taking corrective action. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Issuing a formal notice of policy violation to the event host
- Removing speakers from the program or agenda
- Canceling the event without prior notice or refund
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a space that supports innovation, collaboration, and mutual respect.
